And of course food, readers. There was lots of food. This past weekend we had the pleasure of spending two days with family, celebrating Mother’s Day! This day is made much more special for us because of our sweet, sugar baby (no pun intended). She is such a great kid, and we are proud to be her parents.
Since she is fifteen years old, in addition to a card and gift we got to see this bit of humor on Facebook:
Since we were spending time with two of the most amazing mothers we knew, we had to bring along beautiful gifts to express our gratitude for all that they do. We whipped up these beauties in about ten hours from start to finish. We started with an unfinished board and some recycled jars and ended up with this:
Each one of the paper Hyacinths is hand cut and hand rolled. We installed hardware on the back of each one so they can be hung on the wall. Both jars are painted on the inside (and we’re not sure if you can tell but the green jar is the same color as the wall). The sentiment on the green jar is metallic vinyl and says ‘Mom life is the best life’. This was a very fulfilling project and the best part was seeing the looks on the recipients faces when they saw them!
How did you spend your Mother’s Day? We’d love to hear about it in the comments below – don’t be afraid, we’re friendly!
